1930 H.H. Pratapsinhrao Gaekwad developed a private Golf
Course for his European guests. By 1945 he even hosted the
Baroda Open Golf Championship. In 1995 his grandson and
President of GBGC, re-developed this old golf course and named
it "THE GAEKWAD BARODA GOLF CLUB".
The 10 hole course was primarily set up to introduce the game
of golf to the city of Baroda.
Five years later and a 300 strong golf fraternity a new
championship course was developed. Ranjit Nanda & Associates
were engaged to help design and execute this project. The all
new Lukshmi Vilas Palace was commissioned in 2002. The golf
course meets all championship specifications And in times to
come will play host Pro events. The surroundings of the
majestic palace and the lush green fairways make it an
enjoyable outing for any and everybody.
